As with any industry there are a range of abbreviations which aren't necessarily obvious to a learner. Initially the abbreviations seem designed to confuse you and make it harder to understand. Here is a list of a few common abbreviations to help you out.
Abbreviation Meaning Description
DoT Department of Transport The Government department that tests drivers have attained a satisfactory level of driving standard.
DSA Driving Standards Agency The regulatory body that ensures all companies and instructors of LGV tuition are competent and fit to do so.
